Classification of industrial endoscopes and their advantages and disadvantages

Now the industrial endoscope on the market can be divided into hard tubes, optical fiber, and electronics.

1. Hard pipe, as shown in the figure below, can be viewed directly or side. It can be viewed by naked eyes or connected to a CMOS display. The lighting is optical fiber guided lighting.

Disadvantages: it cannot be bent or made long, generally within 400mm.

Advantages: excellent imaging effect.

2. Optical fiber, optical fiber imaging. It can be viewed by naked eyes or connected to a CMOS display. The lighting is optical fiber guided lighting. This endoscope is now obsolete.

Disadvantages: it can’t be done too long. Generally, there is no problem with a few meters. Tens of meters are difficult.

Advantages: low cost, excellent imaging effect, and the diameter can reach 1.8mm (the smallest in China).

3. Electronic mirror. The end is CMOS electronic imaging. It can be understood that there is a small camera at the end. The display shows. The lighting is led or optical fiber guided lighting.

Disadvantages: the diameter cannot be made small, generally the minimum is about 4mm, and the cost is high.

Advantages: electronic imaging, using modern technology, has clear imaging and integrated design. It can be videotaped and photographed, and can be tens of meters long (the longer the length, the larger the diameter). Now, most electronic endoscopes are on the market.

Differences in lighting:

1. Optical fiber light guide lighting: it is like a bright bulb (cold light source) at the rear end, which guides light to the end through an optical fiber to illuminate the target. The advantages are low cost and durability. If the internal optical fiber is broken, it will affect the lighting (imaging, similarly), there will be black spots and unclear imaging. Of course, if everything is broken, there will be no lighting and no imaging. This endoscope is now obsolete.

2. LED lighting: 4, 6, or another number of LEDs are installed at the end. The advantage is modern technology. Because the end is inserted into the workpiece for inspection, check for collision or friction. If it is broken, it needs to be replaced and repaired (note that led and CMOS are integrated).

3. Technical parameters of the instrument: turning direction and angle (4-direction is more practical than 2-direction, and the greater the turning degree, the higher the process requirements); Field of view angle (the greater the left and right range seen); Observation depth (if the instrument is 8mm – ∞, it means that it is fuzzy within 8mm); Diameter and length; Whether the insertion part is tungsten wire mesh or stainless steel mesh or plastic-coated (wear resistance).

Other function description: the electronic mirror can expand photographing and video evidence collection, and insert card storage. Of course, hard tube mirrors and fiber optic mirrors should be seen by eyes. When they are connected to CMOS display, it means that photography and video recording are also possible.
